The “CORE” on Cultural Heritage (The Oriented Community to the Strategic Challenge on Cultural Heritage) is a network that pretends to articulate effectively the capabilities of research groups, research centers, scientific and technical services and technology parks involved in research, dissemination, preservation and management of Cultural Heritage. Located in the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain, the network includes specialists working in all the areas related with Cultural Heritage: from research to digitalization, conservation, restoration and dissemination of tangible and intangible heritage. Furthermore policy and economic aspects of Heritage are also included in the net, such as Cultural Tourism, regional and local heritage policies and regional development. This challenge arises from National and European research programs and from the regional demand. The network will increase the competitiveness of the groups individually and collectively through the union of efforts in terms of visibility; information and resources sharing and coordination of activities. The network project is promoted by research groups, centers and scientific and technical services. It’s supported by the Office of the Deputy Executive Administrator for Research and assigned to the Strategic Development Unit of the UAB. The CORE on Cultural Heritage aims to: The CORE on Cultural Heritage aims to: * Convert the network of research groups, research centers and scientific and technical services of the UAB and its Campus of Excellence in a national and international network of reference in Cultural Heritage. * Promote the knowledge transfer from research centers to society and productive sector. * Fortify cooperation and scientific exchange between groups and research centers inside the network and with other universities, centers and Heritage clusters through promoting interdisciplinary research and coordinated programs. * Promote research and knowledge transfer, identifying and taking advantage of synergies and capabilities of network members. |
