The Girona Oficial Veterinay College

The Girona Oficial Veterinay College had purchased a bibliographic collection on veterinary history. That’s the heritage fund of Causà family, veterinarian saga who Works on this profession between second half of ninteenht and twentieth century.

We could find 34 titles from XVII-XIX centuries which has been collected for Causà Family. This collection can be divided in two groups:

* The first one, with titles on Albeiteria (the profession prior veterinary science) with works such important like Francisco de la Reyna (1603), Hernando Calvo (1603), Martín Arredondo (1704), García Conde (1734), García Cabero (1740), and Rus García (1800). Most of them autors with french influence, addressed to spanish albeitars, like Lafosse work translation (1807).

* The second group is formed by works written and published with the creation, in 1792, of the Veterinary Royal School in Madrid. Incorporates works by Malats (1793), Guillermo Sampedro (1845), Rafael Espejo del Rosal (1877), Nicolás Casa de Mendoza (1870), D. García Izcara (1901) and JM Díaz Villar (1907)

This collection is a demonstration of the cultural and bibliographic sensibility of Causà family, who imbibed from Enlightenment sources.
