The Fanzines collection of the Hemeroteca General is a collection compiled by the collector Dr. Eugeni Giral, who was a lecturer at the Faculty of Communication Sciences at the UAB. It is formed by 849 titles of diverse content in terms of subject matter, languages and authorship, but with three shared characteristics: it is mainly composed of self-published magazines edited by the fanzine collectives themselves, the fanzines are produced with few resources and the purpose of the publication is not-for-profit. The original documents are preserved in the archives of the Communication and General Periodicals Library, in 53 archive containers totalling around 5.50 linear metres. |
