Composting Research Group (GICOM)

The Composting Research Group (GICOM) of the Department of Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering focuses its research on all aspects related to the treatment of organic solid wastes (both urban and industrial), including recovery of these wastes either to bioproducts or to energy. Specifically, the research deals with composting processes, solid state fermentation, anaerobic digestion and with nanotechnology applied to the environment.
