The GIES is a research group devoted to the study of the psychological factors involved in the health and disease process and its psychosocial context since 1995. The psychological factors studied are mainly related to emotion and motivation processes, such as perception of control, optimism, coping strategies, emotional intelligence, passion, and resilience. The common aim of all studies of GIES is to discover how these psychological factors interact with bio-medical factors in predicting suffering, wellbeing, quality of life, and recovery. Our target population is mainly patients, together with their relatives, informal caregivers and health care staff. |
