The ICP is a public research center from the CERCA institution (Research Centers of Catalonia) established as a non-profit foundation endowed with public funds and patronized by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). The mission of the ICP consists in performing research in vertebrate and human paleontology at the highest international level, as well as to promote the conservation and dissemination of the paleontological heritage from Catalonia.
