Meat Digital Memory (MCD)

The Meat Digital Memory (MCD) actually have more than 5.000 pictures taken by the veterinarian Xavier Fàbregas i Comadran. It encloses the professional scope of the veterinary meat inspection and the quality of carcasses, meats and offals from a southern European perspective of animal production and meat consumption. It covers the official veterinarian work period between 1988 and 2012.

The objective of MDM is to offer all professionals, researchers and students a digital consultation instrument with a comprehensive treatment in some subjects which can be useful for continuing education and teaching.

Photographs include the following topics: livestock and farmyard animals; carcasses, meats and offals; a nd veterinary meat inspection.

The MCD is the result of a digitization project funded by the Catalan Veterinary History Association (ACHV) and Council of Associations of Veterinarians of Catalonia (CCVC) and the UAB. It is an unfinished project conceived as an open work to which it is foreseen the addition of new materials, that will complete or complement the existing ones.
